DJI has just launched the new Flip entry-level drone. Perfect for vlogging, it’s also DJI’s first drone that comes equipped with a foldable full-coverage propeller guard.
Like the recently launched DJI Mini 3 drone, this one is lightweight, portable and regulation-friendly. It’s also designed to deliver excellent close-up portraits with exceptional skin tones as well as distant aerial landscape shots with incredible ease.
Here are some of the other ways this affordable new drone makes it easy to get yourself airborne and capture the shots and footage you want.
Equipping this drone with a full-coverage propeller guard not only saves you setup time and enhances collision resistance, but it also gives you a greater sense of security when attempting those close-up portrait shots, especially for beginners and novices.
You can power it up simply by unfolding the arms and launching it from the palm of your hand. Simply press the mode button on the side to choose your shooting mode and Flip automatically does the rest. It also features an automatic return to home (RTH) function, safely delivering the drone straight back to your hand.
In addition to simple one-press operation, the Flip also supports voice prompts. You can wake the DJI Fly app just by saying “hey fly,” allowing you to use your voice to control and pilot the Flip with your spoken flight directives.
At the heart of this drone, there’s a state-of-the-art 3-axis gimbal to provide a superb level of stability (we expect nothing less from DJI) even in turbulent weather with impressive Grade 5 wind resistance.
AI subject tracking ensures your subject is always front and centre, and with improvements in terms of dynamic range and ISO over previous entry-level models, the Flip delivers professional-looking 4K/60fps HDR video, especially in high-contract scenarios, now with more details retained.
