You can use your smartphone to remotely start/stop recording

One of the features that sets the Wireless GO II apart is its ability to automatically record audio directly to the transmitters allowing it to be used as a standalone field recorder.

On-board recording can be configured a couple of ways, either to begin recording as soon as a transmitter is turned on, or to only start when it connects to the receiver.

But did you know you can also remotely start and stop recording using your smartphone?

By connecting the Wireless GO II receiver to your smartphone via USB connection and opening the RØDE Central app you will have the ability to change the receiver’s settings right on your smartphone!

Not only that, but you will also be able to see all connected transmitters and remotely change their settings as well.

It boasts over 40 Hours of on-board recording capability

Each Wireless GO II transmitter can store up to 7 hours of uncompressed broadcast quality audio, but did you know that it also has the ability to store over 40 hours of compressed audio as well?

In order to activate the ‘Compressed’ recording mode, plug the Wireless GO II into a computer or mobile device, open the RØDE Central app and then select ‘Standard Quality (Compressed)’.

Once the “compressed” mode is selected, recording storage capacity jumps from a mere 7 hours to a massive to 40-plus hours.

Best of all, there is no need to worry about loss of quality when switching modes as the Wireless GO II utilizes an extremely efficient compression algorithm that will produce broadcast-quality audio streams in either mode.

It has a Low-Sensitivity mode

Did you know you can lower the input gain of the transmitter to help stop clipping from happening?

To do this, you need to activate ‘Low Sensitivity Mode’ on the transmitters by using the RØDE Central app to engage an input pad. This allows you to lower the input gain, making it less likely the microphone will clip when recording very loud sounds.

The ‘Low Sensitivity Mode’ affects both the in-built mic and the 3.5mm input and is particularly useful when using the Wireless GO II with the Interview GO adaptor or an external lavalier mic in interviews where people are speaking close to the microphone.

RØDE Pro Tip: “To ensure you always record the best audio quality possible, it is important to consider not only the microphone input level, but also the output level going to your recording device. The Wireless GO II has a very wide output gain range, making it adaptable to a broad range of devices. In addition to using the pad, make sure you utilize the Wireless GO II’s ‘Fine Gain Control’ to match the output level to your camera.”

It’s compatible with RODE Connect

The Wireless GO II is also compatible with the RØDE Connect software allowing you to podcast or stream directly to a computer using professional quality wireless audio.

The Wireless GO II is not only perfect for streaming scenarios where you need a little more freedom, like IRL streaming or recording presentations or classes, but it’s also ideal for recording podcast interviews.
