Photoshop World 2011: Post Show Wrap-Up

I recently had the privilege of attending Photoshop World in Las Vegas, Nevada – which was held Sept. 7-9. The event is organized and put on by Kelby Media Group. I’m  sure many of you are familiar with Scott Kelby’s very well-written books, and he’s regarded as one of the foremost experts on Photoshop.

Photoshop World is an event that is a culmination of seminars, workshops and a trade show that takes place two times per calendar year. The seminars are focused on learning the ins and outs of a photographer’s tools, including Photoshop, Lightroom, and lighting. There are seminars that will appeal to everyone, both beginner and expert.

The speakers are some of the best in the industry, with Scott Kelby taking top billing at this event.  Some of the others included Julieanne Kost, Jay Maisel, Jeff Schewe, Gregory Heisler, Matt Kloskowski, and Joe McNally – just to name a few. You can read all about these folks here.

My purpose for going was actually more to do some networking. And mission accomplished. I did sit in on enough seminars to tell you that any of the above speakers are very knowledgeable,  and really know their craft. A few photos are below.

The crowd gets excited as staff members give out T-Shirts to audience members during the Key Note speech.

For me this was the absolute high note of the whole event. Gregory Heisler and Jay Maisel interviewed each other in a panel discussion.

Julianne Kost – Adobe evangelist at the Adobe booth.

Joe McNally (and he would not like this shot, as I took it using available light)
