The Production Studio Open House Extravaganza!

Last night, Vistek helped to sponsor the open house for the new Production Studio location in Mississauga. We brought along an Elinchrom Litemotiv Octa Softbox,  Quadra ELB 400 To Go kit and brand new Phase One XF IQ3 50MP camera for everyone to try out. Oh, and beer, lots and lots of beer! Run by photographers Phil Sutherland and Emanuel Pires, this 1100 sq ft space, features 18ft high ceilings, hair & makeup stations and a raised platform area making it ideal for product, fashion, dance and commercial photography. There also a couple of C stands, a wind fan (for that windswept look), 4 Elinchrom OXI lights…

Canada has a finalist!

0

No, we’re not talking Pan Am. We’re talking way bigger, arguably the world’s most prestigious photographic event — The 2016 Hasselblad Masters Contest. The great news is, one of our country’s finest photographers, Steven Friedman, is a finalist in the Landscape/Nature category. And he needs votes to win! It’s hard to believe (and somewhat insulting) that a Canadian has never won the Landscape/Nature Category in the Hasselblad Masters Contest. It’s time we changed that. According to Steven, the winners are in part chosen by a public vote, so it’s important he gets all of our support. It’ll take just a…

Meaghan Ogilvie – Requiem of Water Solo Exhibition

0

We highly recommend that you drop by Toronto’s Brookfield Place to experience the large panel photographs by photographer Meaghan Ogilvie in her first solo exhibition entitled Requiem of Water first hand. “Requiem of Water is an act of remembrance to the spirit of water that has been forgotten. Water is our life-sustaining gift, connecting all living things – without it, there is no life. Contrary to our past, today’s developed technological society has become indifferent to this source of life. The world’s natural inheritance of rivers, seas and oceans has been exploited, abused and contaminated. These narrative images embody our relationship and journey back towards honouring…
