Fujifilm has just announced what they are calling “the biggest firmware upgrade in the history of the Fujifilm GFX system,” and boy they aren’t kidding.
The biggest news is the addition of 12-bit ProRes RAW video output for the GFX 100 over HDMI when connected to an ATOMOS Ninja V external video recorder.
For still shooting, there are new film simulations, including CLASSIC Neg and ETERNA modes as well as an in-camera “Smooth Skin Effect”. The GFX 100 is also getting a new “Colour Chrome Blue” feature that Fujifilm says will help to improve blue skies in landscape photos.
Autofocus has also been improved across the board, with improved low-light autofocus down to -5EV for the GFX 100 and access to the “Low Light Priority AF-S” mode for the GFX 50r and GFX 50s cameras.
Face and Eye AF has also been improved and Focus Bracketing now has an auto mode.
Read the complete list of new and improved features for each camera below.
