Let’s start with the camcorders first.
Four the five cameras, the XA65/XA60, XA75/XA70 are pro level models, with the fifth, the VIXIA HF G70 considered more of a prosumer level model.
Canon says that all of the new camcorders are suited to a wide range of application, including run and gun style documentary filmmaking, capturing events, and other uses within the educational system.
Each of the new camcorders is capable of capturing 4K quality content and/or streaming HD UVC content via USB-Ci and features advanced autofocus and face detection functionality.
While they all enable MP4 and On-Screen Display (OSD) recording, the four pro level camcorders also feature XF-AVC recording to support broadcast applications.
All models, boast Canon’s powerful DIGIC DV6 image processor.
The XA65, XA60 and VIXIA HF G70 models feature a 1/2.3-inch type CMOS sensor while the XA75 and XA70 models feature a 1.0-inch type CMOS sensor with all models capable of shooting 4K UHD and Full HD images using oversampling.
With a 35mm equivalent focal length, the XA65/XA60 and VIXIA HF G70 models boast a 20x optical zoom, with the XA75/XA70 models boasting a 15x zoom.
All of the pro level models support 40x digital zoom, the XA65 and XA60 models can extend out to 800x and the the XA75 and XA70 models out to 600x.
Each model, including the VIXIA HF G70, also boasts a large 3.5 inch Touch Panel LCD Monitor and tiltable high-resolution Ocular EVF.
The XA75/XA70 models featuring Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which can be coupled with the Dual Pixel focus guide helping to make manually focusing on a subject easy.
Unlike the XA75.XA70 models, the XA65/XA60 and VIXIA HF G70 models use an advanced Hybrid AF system offering precise focusing even in low light situations.
All models offer adjustable focusing speeds for either fast or smooth AF, controllable via the 3.5 inch LCD display, with focus being easily set by touching a single AF point. Face Detection AF and Face Tracking are also available.
Manual focus on all models can be set either by the focus/zoom ring, or in the case of the XA75/XA70 models using the control ring found on the lens.
The XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 models feature a host of specialist recording options, including Slow and Fast Motion, on-screen display recording and an infrared mode allowing footage to be captured in the dark.
It’s also easy to integrate them into a multi-camera setup using the custom picture menu which provides the ability to colour match footage with other Canon cameras.
The XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 models also feature two XLR audio inputs and 4-channel linear PCM allowing users to set the recording level and input sensitivity.
All models also feature OSD recording which embeds date, time, timecode and other data into the original camera files.
Finally, the XA65/XA60 and XA75/XA70 models can stream HD video in UVC via USB-Ci through a compatible PC and all models feature HDMI output and simultaneous backup and relay recording via dual SD cards. The XA65 and XA75 also offer an additional 3G-SDI output.

The CINE-SERVO 15-120mm T2.95-3.95 EF/PL (CN8x15 IAS S) lens supports Super 35mm and Full-Frame sensor cameras and is available in both a EF and PL mount versions.
To support future productions, Canon says that 8K optical performance can be maintained across the full focal length, providing consistently high image quality across the entire frame.
The lens also features Canon’s renowned warm colour science, matching the existing range of Canon’s cinema lenses and an 11-blade aperture, allow it to producing a beautiful, round bokeh.
It also supports EF mount communication and advanced metadata capture with support for Cooke / Technology™.
The PL mount version of the lens enables both ZEISS eXtended Data™ (XD) communication and Cooke / Technology™, a first for a Canon CINE-SERVO lens.
Both versions of the lens also feature the same 16-bit encoder as found in Canon’s broadcast and existing CINE-SERVO lenses, providing accurate lens position, zoom, focus, and iris metadata.
Both versions of the lens include a detachable servo motor drive unit with an ergonomic hand grip and zoom rocker and three 20-pin ports, two for attaching zoom and focus controls with the third providing 16-bit encoded metadata for virtual systems.

The DP-V2730 is an advanced professional 4K HDR monitor that Canon says is a great companion for broadcast and filmmaking, delivering high-end 4K HDR performance for on-set video villages, on-location production facilities, and is ideal for virtual post-production editing, VFX, and colour grading.
It also utilizes a 4K UHD display engine to achieve 1,000 cd/m² full-screen peak brightness and Canon’s local dimming technology capable of providing an ultra-low black level of 0.001 cd/m².
The DP-V2730 features a suite of monitoring tools including a waveform monitor, histogram, frame luminance monitor, RGB parade and more.
It includes an HDMI input and nine 12G-SDI terminals (4x Inputs and 5x Outputs) capable of delivering 4K60P 4:2:2 10-bit or 4K30P 4:4:4 12-bit signals.
The DP-V2730 can be easily linked to a compatible computer, tablet, or smartphone plus multiple Canon Displays (via a LAN connection) using the Remote Control Web UI feature (requires a paid license to activate).
The Remote Control Web UI is a touch-optimized interface providing live image viewing, detailed signal information and direct control over inputs, monitoring tools, and settings.
4-way SDI input switching that supports various workflows, such as sending an output feed to a director’s monitor, external recorder, or live streaming solution can also be accessed via a paid upgrade.
