If you are looking to get into the world of “vlogging” or are looking for some new gear to expand your video content creation arsenal of tools, the new Canon PowerShot V10 Vlog Camera has a lot to offer.
With a sleek, lightweight and compact design it’s easy to take with you wherever you go and durable enough to withstand the rigors of daily use.
It’s packed with features designed to capture stunning video and yes, even still images!
The camera features a high-quality, 20.9-megapixel Type 1 back-illuminated image sensor to deliver outstanding video quality, even in low light conditions.
The sensor is also paired with Canon’s fast, powerful DIGIC X processor to ensure smooth video footage at up to 4K 30p resolution as well as Full HD video at 60p resolution.
The built-in fixed lens has an wide-angle 19mm focal length and f/2.8 max aperture and can focus on a subject as close as 0.05 meters (0.16 feet).
It also features built-in image stabilization, to ensure that your footage remains smooth and steady, even when shooting handheld or in challenging conditions.
Video is captured horizontally by default, but by turning the camera on its side, it will automatically change the aspect ratio to vertical allowing you to easily create footage more suitable for some social media platforms.
The PowerShot V10 is equipped with a fast, accurate autofocus system that ensures your subjects remain in sharp focus, even when they’re moving quickly or unpredictably.
There are two autofocus modes, One-Shot AF for stills and Movie Servo AF for video. Unfortunately, there is no manual focus option available. It also offers Face Tracking (but no eye-detection AF) and Specified Frame AF.
Autofocus settings can be controlled via the two-inch touchscreen as well as automatically by the camera itself.
Users can also choose from 14 creative Movie Colour filters, which can also be be used while live streaming.
High-quality audio is just as important as high-quality video, and the PowerShot V10 utilizes a pair of built-in stereo microphones to capture front or rear audio.
There is also dedicated microphone input, allowing you to connect an external microphone, giving you the flexibility to use a variety of microphone types, including lavalier, shotgun, or condenser style microphones.
Lastly, Canon has also included a free companion app with the PowerShot V10, the Canon Camera Connect, which allows the camera to communicate with a compatible smartphone via it’s built-in Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
Via the app, you can transfer images and videos to share on social media, control the camera remotely and even livestream from wherever you are!
