DJI launches the new Osmo Action 4, now with enhanced image and audio quality and other welcome upgrades. It’s the latest iteration in this popular series of action cams designed to help thrill-seekers capture exhilarating moments even in the most challenging environments.
Best-in-class image quality
The Osmo Action 4 features a 12MP 1/1.3-inch CMOS image sensor combined with a 2.4μm-equivalent pixel size and a wide f/2.8 aperture to deliver highly detailed shots even in difficult lighting conditions. The ultra-wide-angle 155-degree FOV offers a generous perspective comparable to what the human eye typically sees.
The Osmo Action 4 also boasts 10-bit D-Log M colour performance to put more than a billion colours and a wider dynamic range at your fingertips when editing footage in post. It uses an advanced colour-temperature sensor to ensure true-to-life tones, and DJI Mimo can now sync visual information from the colour-temperature sensor to deliver eye-popping underwater colours and clarity.
High-quality stereo recording
The next-gen Osmo Action 4 is equipped with three mics for omnidirectional recording with improved audio fidelity. There’s also a hidden microphone at the bottom of the camera, and advanced wind-noise reduction software is available to keep your audio sounding loud and clear in fast-moving situations. The Action 4 is compatible with DJI Mic, giving you a healthy transmission range of up to 250m, but it can also be connected to other external mics using a Type-C to 3.5mm cable.
Designed to keep up, no matter what
With water-resistant dual touchscreens, the Osmo Action 4 is fully waterproof to a depth of 18m without a case (a full two metres deeper than the Action 3) and is also deep-freeze resistant down to -20 C degrees. The 360-degree HorizonSteady camera stabilization system corrects horizontal tilts at any angle – regardless of the number of twists and turns it’s subjected to – and RockSteady 3.0 ensures seamlessly fluid stabilization for your POV footage, even when shooting 4K/120fps.
When your hands are occupied, Voice Control lets you use your own voice commands for a totally hands-free control experience. The Action 4 supports livestreaming using WiFi or your phone’s hotspot, and the fast-charging battery can be charged to 80% power in just 18 minutes, delivering up to 2.5 hours of use.
The DJI Action 4 is available in accessorized Standard Combo and Adventure Combo kits. Additional new accessories are also sold separately.
