Built for speed and versatility, the new FIVE strobe head with Active Charging does exactly what you’d expect: you can use it even while actively charging the unit, with no workflow interruption. And that’s not all.
It’s been more than a year since we’ve had the pleasure of telling you about another great new product launch from Elinchrom, so the latest announcement is truly something to celebrate. The beauty of the new FIVE is that you can connect it to any USB-C power source and continue using it in the studio while actively charging the built-in battery – regardless of remaining power level – and then unplug it and work on location with up to 450 full-power flashes on a single charge. It only takes about an hour to fully charge it up. Without the need for proprietary spare batteries or chargers. Imagine the possibilities.
You can sync up to 1/8000s with HSS to freeze motion, and optimized cooling lets you shoot at full power every 1.6 seconds. The Elinchrom FIVE also features a continuous-running modelling light and lets you shoot longer sessions with faster recycling times. With an adjustable colour temperature range of 2700K to 6500K, the 26W LED modelling lamp delivers an output of 4,000 Lumens and a CRI of up to 95.
Built tough to rigorous Elinchrom specifications, the versatile FIVE also features a standard Elinchrom modifier mount, making it natively compatible with a wide range of available Elinchrom light-shaping accessories. The simplified interface – similar to the one found on the Elinchrom ELC 500 – offers a familiar easy-to-navigate menu, so you never waste time and never miss the moment. You can easily make a quick switch from TTL to manual mode without losing your exposure settings either, and with built-in Bluetooth, you can also use the Elinchrom Studio App to control the light and seamlessly adjust settings.
