Joe Tavares is an emerging wildlife and birding photographer, having captured mesmerizing, natural shots across the globe; everything from eagles in Japan to lions in Africa.
He has honed his skills in all environments from kayaks to knee-deep snow.
Joe had the opportunity to try out the Alpha 9 III and the Sony 300mm f/2.8 GM lens, and here are his thoughts.
For wildlife photography, three features stand out!
The Auto Focus of this camera is truly impressive…
It locked focus on the eyes of this Woodpecker flying directly at me.
Even the eyes of these tiny Hummingbirds are tact sharp.
With the World’s First Global Shutter, the Alpha 9iii will shoot at up to 120 frames per second with NO BLACK OUT.
The Pre-capture feature is a real game-changer.
The camera can record up to one second of images before I even press the Shutter!
Now I can get shots I couldn’t before… such as the exact moment this Gold Finch took off.
Even the birds agree … the Alpha 9 III is a great camera for wildlife and bird photography.
