A new RodeCaster firmware update adds USB mic compatibility for the RodeCaster Duo and RodeCaster Pro II, as well as other eagerly anticipated enhancements. Once you’ve completed this update – version 1.3.4 – you’ll be able to connect up to five microphones to the RodeCaster Pro II and up to three to the RodeCaster Duo. And that’s not all.
Along with giving you greatly expanded recording possibilities for conducting larger podcasts, you’ll also have the ability to adjust SMART pad levels individually, plus a “ducking” mixer action depth control and compatibility with Wireless PRO.
You’ll find the SMART pad update especially useful for adjusting each of your sounds to ensure that they’re well balanced – or to crank a particular sound up when you want it to come in louder. The new mixer action temporarily lowers the level of all other channels when the host connected to microphone channel 1 starts talking.
The firmware update also unlocks complete compatibility with the Wireless PRO, including the ability to change GainAssist settings from the RodeCaster itself, as well as enhancing overall system stability and ease of use.
You can access these new features by joining the RodeCaster Beta Testing Program and updating via WiFi, ethernet or Rode Central on a computer.
