Now available in a Nikon Z Mount version, the Tamron 50-400mm lens is an “all-in-one” game-changer in the world of telephoto optics.
Thanks to its impressive zoom range, it is ideal for sports photography and other situations requiring quick transitions between focal lengths and with its impressive 8x zoom ratio, it covers everything from standard to super-telephoto focal lengths.
The lens also excels in close-up shooting. At 50mm, it achieves a 1:2 macro reproduction ratio, while at 400mm, it offers a 1:4 magnification ratio.
The Tamron 50-400mm lens delivers exceptional image quality across its entire zoom range and features 24 elements in 18 groups, including special dispersion and aspherical elements, helping it to produce sharp images with minimal chromatic aberration and distortion.
Tamron also says that autofocus performance has improved significantly compared to previous models.
The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme Drive) linear motor ensures fast and quiet operation, making it ideal for both photography and videography.
It also boasts Tamron’s proprietary Vibration Compensation (VC) mechanism, helping to reduce camera shake and image quality loss when shooting handheld, especially in low-light situations or at slower shutter speeds.
The lens’s exterior boasts a glossy black finish with improved abrasion resistance, making it less prone to scratches and fingerprints and its rubber ring has deeper grooves for better grip, enhancing handling in various conditions.
