New from Panasonic: AG-AC160 & AG-HPX250 Cameras

The newly-released AVCCAM HD handheld camcorders, the AG-AC160, is now on shelves at Vistek. This new camera is affordably-priced & feature-packed with high-sensitivity 1/3”, full-HD 2.2 megapixel 3-MOS imagers to capture native 1920 x 1080 resolution images, with a new, wider 21X HD zoom lens.

It also boasts:

  • 22x built-in zoom lens with separate manual focus, zoom and iris rings which covers a wide field of view from wide angle to telephoto
  • Optical Stabilizer 3 step ND
  • NEW 3Mos ULT image sensors
  • 18 Bit DSP
  • DRS Dynamic range stretch
  • 7 mode gamma selection
  • Multiple gain selections up to 30db
  • DV AVI type20 or full 1080/720 HD AVCCAM recording at up to 24Mbps with LPCM audio
  • It is 50Hz/60hz switchable so it supports 1080-59.94i/50i, 1080-29.97P-23.98P/25P, 720-59.94P-29.97P-23.98P as well as SD 480i/576i with Variable Frame Rate Full 1080P recording settings for over and under-crank motion effects
  • Dual SD/SDHC card slots
  • XLR audio inputs – built in WFM monitor -Scene /User file capability and much more

Its brother, the AG-HPX250,  should be on shelves by mid-October as well. With essentially the same specs as the AG-AC160, this version adds a P2 card for recording in Full 422 at P2 100Mbps or AVCI 50/100Mbps, as well as Genlock and Time Code I/O capability.
