If you’ve been following recent developments at Aputure and its popular Light Storm series of professional point-source LEDs, you might have guessed that something like a 600x bi-colour model would probably be next up on the agenda. And you’d be right. No surprise then that the new LS 600x Pro closely adheres to the compact form factor and intuitive design of the LS 600d Pro that are the hallmark of this line, featuring the same control box interface and Bowens Mount compatibility that so many cinematographers and lighting technicians already love.
Flexible CCT range
The big difference of course is the introduction of a versatile 2700K to 6500K variable CCT range, boosting this fixture’s ability to meet the need for a modifiable hard or soft light that can provide not only that welcome colour-temperature flexibility but also reliably intense output.
Manageable power consumption
And it does this – maintaining an output of 18,510 lux at 3m with the F10 Fresnel at 5600K – while taking full advantage of the LED’s low energy consumption, with just a 720W maximum power draw, and making the LS 600x the perfect candidate to replace HMIs and tungsten lights on film sets.
It also means that the LS 600x Pro can be powered by V-Mount, Gold Mount and Block Battery sources via its multi-voltage battery plates or 48V three-pin XLR input. The unit can even serve as a battery charger using available AC power to help streamline and simplify your on-set workflow.
Additional versatility
Like other models in this series, the LS 600x Pro boasts a sturdy dust- and weather-resistant design to withstand variable weather conditions, including light rain and water spray. It also features an intuitive control interface with advanced LCD, Sidus Link app control, LumenRadio wireless DMX and Ethernet control. And you get those nine cool lighting effects that the Light Storm series is also known for, including paparazzi, fireworks, TV, explosion and more.
