Profoto A10: Speedlight that works with your camera or smartphone

The Profoto A10 is the latest entry in Profoto’s A1 series of roundhead speedlights featuring Bluetooth enabled AirX technology giving the A10 the ability to work as an on/off camera light with both cameras and compatible smartphones.

Physically, the A10 is basically identical to the previous A1 models, featuring the same round flash head design, large display and controls.

It’s also similar to the A1X in terms of power, with both models featuring 76Ws of max power, 9 stops of control, a recycle time of between 0.05s and 1s, HSS & TLL support and a battery that provides up to 450 full power flashes per charge.

So what’s different then?

Well, unlike the previous models, the A10 has Profoto’s AirX Bluetooth sync technology built-in allowing you to control it directly from a compatible smartphone using the the Profoto App.

Before the A10 this feature was only available on the larger and more expensive B10 and B10 Plus monolights.

This allows you to “unleash” the full power of the A10 allowing you to change settings, download and install firmware and capture, edit and publish your images all from your compatible smartphone.
