    Nanlux 650C and 1200C Lights

Building upon more than 30 years in the industry, the Dyno 650C and 1200C are Nanlux’s most powerful RGBWW LED Lights to date.

The low power consumption and high output of these well-crafted fixtures make them an ideal choice for all manner of applications. The Dyno’s perfect blend of performance and control provides our customers with a truly creative lighting tool”. – Robert Kulesh, Executive VP Nanlux Americas

Developed specifically for movie, television and media production applications, Nanlux is positioning both lights as more affordable solutions when compared to similar lights from manufacturers such as ARRI.

As a comparison, Nanlux claims that the Dyno 650C outputs almost twice as much light as ARRI’s SkyPanel S60-C with the 1200C output coming in at around 14% less than ARRI’s SkyPanel S360-C.

Because of this, both lights should not only appeal to higher-end cine rental houses, but also to production companies who are looking for more affordable lighting options to purchase outright.

The Dyno 650W fixture features an exciting collection of preset, fully customizable effects plus an extensive ‘gel library’, allowing users to instantly switch between a huge variety of looks or to match almost any lighting filter configuration.

Both are high output RGBWW LED soft panel lights that come packed with the kind of premium features you would find on other lights in this class.

Power wise, the 650C outputs 650W (nominal)/700W (max) with the larger 1200C outputting 1200W (nominal)/1400W (max).

In terms of quality of light, both the 650C and 1200C offer an average CRI and TCLI of 95 and are fully tunable between 2700K – 20000K and offer a beam angle of up to 160º.

Both lights are dimmable from 0 – 100% (in stepless increments of 0.1%), whether using tungsten, daylight or any of the 16 million colour options available.

    Size and Weight

    The 650C features a 2×1 shape (857 x 173 x 630mm / 33.74″ x 6.81″ x 24.80″), while the larger, more powerful, 1200C features a 3×3 shape (1023 x 173 x 918mm / 40.28″ x 6.81″ x 36.14″).

The 650C light panel weighs a hefty 15.8kg (34.8lbs) on it’s own, but tops out at 21.8kg (almost 50lbs) when you add the power adapter diffuser.

The 1200C isn’t exactly lightweight either, with the light panel alone weighs more than the 650C (with power and diffuser attached) at 26.2kg (57.8lbs). When you add the power adapter and diffuser, the 1200C tips the scales at 36.7kg (just over 80lbs).

    Final Thoughts

Will Nanlux be able to go head to head with the likes of ARRI and gain a stronger foothold in this relatively small market segment?

The answer is mostly likely not yet, but we can say with confidence that with these new lights, they are definitely headed in the right direction.
