At a press event, Wednesday, Sony launched a slew of exciting new product, including four new cameras (the NEX-5R, NEX-6, Alpha α99 and Cyber-shot RX1 ) as well as two new camcorders (the NEX-VG30 and NEX-VG900.)

A full-frame point-and-shoot, you say? That’s crazy talk. Well, not anymore! Sony’s newest member of the Cyber-shot family is a palm-sized, compact camera that boasts a full-frame 24.3 megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor. Combined with a Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm F2 lens and Sony’s advanced BIONZ image processing engine, this is definitely the little camera that could!

NEW! ALPHA NEX CAMERAS
New to the NEX lineup of interchangeable lens cameras is the NEX-5R, with a 16.1mp APS HD CMOS sensor, and the NEX-6, with a 16.1 MP APS-C size HD image sensor. The NEX-5R features a fast hybrid AF, as does the NEX-6 – expanding upon that with an OLED viewfinder, enhanced control, expandability and Wi-Fi® capabilities.
