Coming out soon, the Zacuto Z-Finder EVF, a 3.2” high-resolution monitor that is certain to become the long-awaited solution to the woes of filming with a HDSLR. First off, it aligns the camera “inline” (the most stable way) to your rod system. Most important, the Zacuto Z-Finder allows you to get your eye where it most comfortably needs to be – away from the camera. The 16×9 screen, with a resolution that’s 56% greater than a typical DSLR LCD screen, gives you a clear, high-resolution (800×480) image. And because the EVF can be either attached to the rig or detached, it’s great for all kinds of shooting. You can achieve critical focus for low mode shooting, even crane shots. What it all means is, with a Z-Finder EVF, shooting video with an HDSLR is a lot like using a film camera or ENG video camera.
